    Salary range: The posted UCsalary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Table 15 for the salary range. A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is a yearly $64,329 to $91,718. Percent appointments may vary.

    Position description

    The Department of Earth Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified Lecturers (part-time appointments) to teach courses in Earth Science in the following areas: Earth Systems, Biogeology, Geochemistry, Geology, Geophysics and Paleobiology. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department.

    The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory courses. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

    Teaching needs are assessed on a quarter by quarter basis. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Positions are open until filled.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    Must have M.S., in Earth Science and have an emphasis in one or more areas; Area of Specialization: Earth Systems, Biogeology, Geochemistry, Geology, Geophysics & Paleobiology.


    Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

    Must have a minimum of one-year of teaching experience.


    Preferred qualifications

    PhD in Earth Science or related field.
