Job Description

Responsible for University compliance including, but not limited to Clery Report, Title IX, VII, VI (and other civil rights laws and regulations), HEOA, EEO Officer, investigating student, faculty, and staff related concerns to include discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct, and related policy and compliance work.

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties

  • Manage the daily responsibilities of Compliance, EEO Office, and Title IX Coordinator, including conducting the Title IX investigations on campus, and engage in related planning, policy, and risk mitigation/compliance work.
  • Serve as University Clery Officer and University HEOA Officer and complete reports. 
  • Contact all parties involved with complaints or concerns and provide them with information about resources and the investigatory process. Interview the complainant, respondent, and potential witnesses.
  • Gather and secure relevant documentation. Keep accurate and thorough records and notes of investigatory process. Develop comprehensive reports.
  • Investigate sexual and discriminatory harassment concerns for students and student organizations, including alleged sexual assaults, and serve as the lead investigator for student cases involving faculty, staff and student grievances concerning Title IX.
  • Create and deliver training efforts related to sexual assault/sexual harassment education and prevention.
  • Review and ensure University policies, procedures, protocols and practices are in compliance with Title IX regulations, and work to ensure matters within purview of Compliance Office are informed by current federal and state laws and regulations and support the University compliance environment.
  • Provide consultation, training, and education on Title IX, EEO, and other compliance regulations and matters, and disseminate related material.
  • Train and facilitate other Title IX investigators and stakeholders and coordinate/delegate cases and reporting as appropriate. Assist in maintaining statistics and data for reporting purposes.
  • Work with the Behavioral Intervention Team to intervene as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with Student Affairs, Human Resources and General Counsel’s programs and services and partner with other University areas to provide education and prevention efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience required. Background knowledge and training in Title IX and other federal and state non-discrimination laws is preferred, and will be required within six (6) months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the higher education environment, and risk management or general compliance concerns relating to students and/or employees, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with university or other organizational grievance processes and investigations, and experience with dispute resolution, is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent judgment.
  • Ability to work on complex matters, understanding and integrating resources and objectives, applicable rules/policies/procedures, and independent or professional judgment, in an efficient and confidential (if needed) manner.

Potential Salary Range:

Dependent on experience and qualifications.
