Position Description:

The Unit HR Coordinator IV position provides coordination and support to the Business Office Dental HR team at the School of Dentistry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support to unit HR specialists in talent acquisition and onboarding (e.g., submit job requisitions, purchase external advertisements, disposition candidates, send welcome emails, submit onboarding tickets, submit sign-on/retention bonus payments, ensure I-9 completion, etc.).
  • Serve as unit timekeeper for staff, process biweekly, and monthly payroll; communicate with supervisors to ensure complete and accurate payroll processing each payroll period; answer supervisor and employee questions related to timekeeping and leave; serves as liaison to Payroll Office; correct processing errors; communicate with central HR Leave Coordinator to monitor/track FML; ensure proper time reporting for worker's compensation as necessary.
  • Handle the hiring process for student employees, temporary employees, postdocs and residents paid via payroll.
  • Initiate HR-related transactions in human capital management system (e.g., one-time payments, job changes and corrections, etc.) and submit supervisory organization change forms as needed.
  • Submit onboarding tickets for contingent workers such as non-employee residents and externs.
  • Assist with preparation of HR reports.
  • Provide support and coordination for unit events/training programs (e.g., orientation, service recognition awards).
  • Maintain accurate, updated human resources files, records, and documentation; performs periodic audit of files and records to ensure files are updated.
  • Serve as a back up to unit HR specialists and administrative assistant as necessary.
  • Handle sensitive, confidential employee and HR-related information in the strictest confidence.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding/transferring employees (e.g., submit tickets, assist in onboarding process. Send welcome emails to incoming hires, collect information for department communications, etc.).
  • Assist in preparing unit HR communications, reports, and presentations.
  • Answer general HR inquiries and escalate to appropriate unit HR staff or campus office as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in human resources within higher education and/or patient care environment
  • Experience using Workday
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency with and experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, etc.), Adobe Acrobat (editing and saving PDFs), and DocuSign
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and commitment to teamwork
Target Compensation Maximum:

$31.38

Target Compensation Minimum:

$20.92

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
