Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Administrator (Seasonal) for the Undergraduate Academic Affairs department.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Supports in-person group advising sessions 2-4 times per week between mid-June and mid-August during concurrent sessions of New Student Orientation (NSO).
  • Supports the virtual academic advising and registration initiatives for international and out of region students unable to travel to campus for NSO.
  • Helps students create balanced and appropriate full-time schedules for their first semester at Rutgers-New Brunswick to help students meet degree requirements, complete foundational courses in programs of interest, and explore their academic interests.
  • Works under the guidance of the school-based Assistant Deans for First-Year Students and alongside school-based Assistant Deans and student counselors as they guide students through the process of registering for their Fall 2024 courses.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Rutgers degree requirements and University systems (Degree Navigator, Schedule of Classes, Canvas).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be comfortable using computers (advising and registration take place in a campus computer lab).
