Works with Stone Lab Research Coordinator and visiting professors on a research project that focuses on an environmental issue affect the Lake Erie region; reviews relevant literature on the research project; conducts the research which may involve sample collection aboard Stone Laboratory research boats on Lake Erie, hiking in forests and meadows, or in another outdoor environment; may work with chemicals or handle vertebrates based on the research project; conduct data analysis; report writing; attends weekly program meetings; gives an oral presentation at the end of the program; maintains a clean laboratory and follows laboratory safety protocols; performs other duties as assigned. Position is a temporary appointment that will last from May 27 to July 26 2024. The first week is remote work to complete online trainings. From June 3 to July 26 the position is located at Put-In-Bay, Ohio.
Education/Experience Required:
A current college student who will not graduate before May 2024, majors in biology, ecology, environmental science, engineering, or similar field.
