Undergraduate Research Assistant position for spring 2024: Renaissance and Baroque Art History

Professor Kate Lusheck (Art History & Museum Studies) is seeking one or more ambitious and academically accomplished art history (AHMS) juniors or seniors to assist her in research and image collection for her current book manuscript project, Leonardo’s Theoretical and Graphic Afterlife in the Art of Peter Paul Rubens.  

RA activities will include acquainting one's self with relevant research materials and issues; identifying, gathering, reading, and annotating sources; identifying and ordering relevant photos for study and publication; developing and maintaining digital and physical systems for note-keeping, bibliographies, and image storage; and meeting with Professor Lusheck regularly to plan and review RA progress.

Commitment: Approx. 3-5 hours/week in spring 2024, with possibility of continuance in summer/fall 2024 (funds permitting)

Pay rate: $16.99 per hour

Preferred Qualifications Include:

**Junior or Senior undergraduate art history or museum studies student

**Prior upper-division seminar(s) in early modern European art

**A love of humanities-based research, and experience using art and humanities related databases, Link+, inter-library loans (or interest in learning them)

**Interest in the intersections of intellectual history and the visual arts

**Highly competent in properly citing sources and creating bibliographies

**Detail-oriented and organized; very responsible

** Self-starter; works well independently

** 3.7 cumulative GPA in the major, and preferably plans to attend graduate school in art history

**Reading knowledge of French, Italian, or other Romance language desired
