Undergraduate Program Assistant and Schedule Deputy

Job Summary

The Program Assistant/Schedule Deputy will provide administrative support within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).  This position supports the associate head of undergraduate programs, associate directors, and academic advisors, as well as serve as receptionist to assist the student population of around 2000.  This position will also serve as Schedule Deputy for the department as well as a data steward for compiling and maintaining various school metrics for internal and external reporting needs regarding the Undergraduate Advising Office.

What We Are Looking For

 

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Three years of experience in office setting performing clerical and/or administrative duties

 

Skills:
Required:                

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including telephone etiquette, planning, public relations, proofreading, drafting, editing and disseminating correspondence and reports
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with students, staff, and faculty
  • Quality interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated individual with the ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and determine problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion
  • Must be able to work individually and contribute to a team environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
     

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Banner System and Cognos

  • This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standing
