Job Description Summary:
The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a full-time nursing educator to join our progressive and innovative faculty, staff, and students. This can be a 9-month or 12-month appointment. This position will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate nursing programs. Other responsibilities include serving on faculty committees, mentoring students, and evaluation of educational activities.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing;
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Kansas or multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact State

Work Experience: 1 year experience teaching in an undergraduate nursing program

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Doctorate in nursing from an accredited school of nursing

Work Experience: 2 or more years teaching in an undergraduate and/or graduate nursing program

Skills:

  • Leadership in an academic program; experience in presenting and publishing about educational innovations
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology in virtual and in-person academic environments

Job Duties Outlined

  • Teaching in nursing programs according to educational preparation and program need
  • Collaboration with nursing faculty at KU School of Nursing
  • Participation in course and curriculum development
  • Service commitment to School and Medical Center’s clinical, academic, and research partnerships
  • Develops and implements special projects as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
