Description

The Kanbar Institute's Undergraduate Department of Film & Television at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts is searching for two full-time Assistant Arts Professors in Directing and Scriptwriting to begin in September 2022.

Qualifications

Candidates should have proven and significant experience as a screenwriter of film or television and/or director of narrative fiction film and television and/or documentary. Evidence of teaching experience or ability at the university level is preferred, as well as demonstrated experience in a creative/collaborative environment.
Duties include teaching 5 courses per year, mentoring undergraduate students, and participating in departmental and/or school-wide committees and events. Ongoing professional work is encouraged and expected. Salary, to be negotiated, includes an excellent benefits package.

Three letters of recommendation are also required, at least one of which should be from an academic (not industry) recommender. The letters should include contact information for each recommender in order to facilitate the possibility of additional inquiries. Candidates may be asked to submit a creative reel.
