The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Imaging Records Specialist II with Sylvester Cancer Center in Miami, Florida.

The Digital Imaging Record Specialist II is responsible for the imaging record maintenance in patient charts.  Receiving, documenting and processing Digital Imaging requests from patients, medical facilities, insurance companies and legal firms.  Incumbent performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties that support consumer services in and out of the department. Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas.  Employee must adhere to PHI “minimum necessary” compliance standards at all times.

Utilize UChart-Radiant (RIS) and/or PACs to import or export digital images and report data. Fulfill digital imaging record inquires via in person, fax, telephone, subpoenas and legal requests. Retrieve messages from voicemail in a timely manner.  Resolve radiology exceptions in PACS Manage document services with Iron Mountain Support the workflow at the counter to receive and process film jacket/CDs requests for the counter and/or ancillary areas via telephone, fax and/or in person.  Order supplies for the department including satellites. Monitor Nuance and outsourced dictation services for correctness/issues. Update on-call radiology schedules (all modalities) using Smart Web System Complies with the hospital, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, State requirements and works closely with the HIPAA Privacy Office to ensure HIPAA compliance.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                               

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Certification and Licensing:

Not applicable

Experience:

Three (3) years of HII &/or HIM experience required. Preferably in a hospital-based environment.  Experience in Epic Radiant (RIS), Philips PACS and/or Vendor Neutral Archives (VNA) a plus.
