The UAA School of Social Work Temporary Faculty Candidates will be evaluated on past teaching experiences, expertise and experience relevant to effective teaching in the area of need, and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Applicants must have experience relevant to teaching specific course content in one or more of the following BSW and MSW curricular areas: human diversity; human behavior in the social environment; social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and/or communities; case management; social work research; social work program evaluation; and social welfare policy. A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree is required to teach practice courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

A MSW or a master's degree in a closely related discipline is required to teach other courses (i.e., diversity, policy, human behavior, research, program evaluation). A Doctorate degree in Social Work or a closely related field is preferred.

Position Details:

Salary is based on the number of previous semesters of teaching experience within the University of Alaska.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
