The Opportunity:

As the TV Programming Manager, you will oversee the programming and scheduling of shows on Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB) television and its visual streaming platforms, ensuring a seamless experience for viewers. Your role will involve acquiring, planning, organizing, and monitoring of NWPB’s television programs, services, and promotions. Additionally, you will collaborate with NWPB’s Director of Audience, Director of Content, and Director of Marketing to leverage cross-promotional assets effectively. You will coordinate and manage the systems and in-house operations required for successful daily operation of the NWPB television. You will help manage the allocation of programming resources and regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in work directly related to management policies or department business operations and has delegated authority to make commitments that affect department operations.

This position is located in Pullman, WA. Remote/hybrid work in the Western United States may be available.


Required Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Experience in broadcasting, with preference given to TV including experience in programming, traffic, asset management, or operations.

  •  Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid driver’s license at time of hire.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Degree in broadcasting, mass communications, or closely related field.

  • Experience in PBS programming formats.

  • Experience with ProHost or Protrack scheduling software.

  • Knowledge of television and/or radio traffic.

  • Fundraising experience.

  • Knowledge of audience-building techniques.

  • Experience working in master control or with joint-master control.

Monthly Salary:

$4,508.70 to $5,635.87 |In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
