TT Faculty Position Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry

The Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position .

Candidates with strong backgrounds in bench laboratory or bioinformatics approaches, using molecular, cellular, animal model, translational and/or computational methods to investigate human disease will be preferred. Opportunities exist to collaborate with outstanding clinical programs and to investigate diverse patient populations. Clinical activity commensurate with expertise and interests exists for qualified candidates. Applicants must have an MD or PhD, have, or will be expected to develop, an extramurally funded research program, and contribute to the teaching and service missions of the Department. Academic rank, salary, and tenure status will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. Competitive salary and startup funds are available.

The Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry at Lewis Katz School of Medicine combines the clinical, research, and educational aspects of Genetics with research and education in Biochemistry. All research faculty members participate in the interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program. The department is an integral component of the School of Medicine’s mission to build strong clinical service and translational research programs to enhance the transformation of basic science discoveries into better patient care. Areas of clinical and research strength include cancer, substance abuse, disparities, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, autoimmunity and diseases of the immune system, metabolic disease, and neurodegenerative disease.
