The Center for American Indian Health Research, Hudson College of Public Health, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, is looking to hire a Tribal Liaison to work on a research study focused on research projects involving Native American people. The person who will be hired for this position will recruit study subjects, obtain participant consent, conduct participant study interview, preform study procedures, enter information collected from participants into the study data entry program, and performs public relations for the project with the Native American tribes and communities.

Duties:

  • Assists with recruiting Oklahoma Native Americans as study subjects for various studies.
  • Performs public relations for the project with the Native American tribes and communities.
  • Assists in the recruiting of subjects.
  • Promotes projects with tribal and community leaders.
  • Schedules appointments and interviews participants.
  • Provides information to project staff regarding the Native American traditions and lifestyles.
  • Transports patients to the clinics as necessary.
  • Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • 6 months experience in a hospital, clinical setting, public relations, or closely related field.

Skills:

  • Communication with a multicultural population.
  • Ability to travel.

Certifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Stand, walk, and talk. 
  • Environmental: Travel within Oklahoma.
