This position is responsible for, under the direction of the Assistant Director, providing transportation services on daily campus shuttle routes and charter trips for university students, employees, and visitors. Campus shuttle routes may include day, night, or weekend shifts. Charter trips may transport students and employees to destinations both inside and outside the 50-mile local area and range from in-state to out-of-state travel.

Transporting - 70
To safely transport Georgia College & State University students, employees, and visitors on campus shuttle routes and charter trips while providing good customer service, communicating well, and following all safety protocols.
Responsibility #1- Provides safe bus transportation services for students, employees, and visitors along campus shuttle routes in accordance with defined schedules during day, night, or weekend shifts.
Responsibility #2 - Provides safe bus transportation services for students, employees, and visitors on shuttle buses that can include charter trips inside and outside the local area, ranging from in-state and out-of-state travel as well as day, night, weekend, and overnight travel.
Compliance - 20
To act in compliance with transportation (DOT and FMCSA) and departmental regulations, policies, and procedures when performing job duties and making decisions to ensure passenger safety at all times.
Responsibility #1 - Be knowledgeable and follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations in regards to passenger carrier vehicles and follow all department policies and procedures when performing daily job duties and when making decisions to ensure passenger safety.
Responsibility #2 - Perform safety precautions and daily routines including pre and post trips on university vehicles and reporting maintenance issues.
Responsibility #3 - Take annual refresher training on department procedures as well as additional training as provided; stay up to date on all driver certifications/licenses (CDL and DOT Medical Card).
Other - 10
Other duties as assigned that include, but are not limited to, fueling university vehicles, cleaning the interior/exterior of university vehicles, assisting maintenance operations staff with various tasks.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Required Qualifications
Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement. DOT Medical Card.
Required Experience
At least five years of driving experience and an excellent driving record.

Preferred Experience
At least three years of driving experience with a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

Ability to perform daily tasks to prevent safety hazards, including pre and post trip inspections of university vehicles.
Ability to learn and apply training to day-to-day job duties and stay up to date on all certifications/licenses.
Ability to utilize/access email, the online schedule system, and other required and university-related programs.
Ability to use technology, including GPS, tracking and reporting interface system, and radio.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the current federal, state, and local regulations, procedures, and policies, including
Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
SKILLS
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, including politeness and friendliness.
Must possess great customer service skills at all times.
Must possess good computer skills.
