Location: Waldorf, Maryland

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks an adjunct faculty to teach a hybrid (virtual and onsite) course in the Master of Transformational Leadership graduate program. Specifically, we are seeking an adjunct faculty for the following course:

TLP 610: Repositioning Your Leadership Skills - Master the ways in which leadership takes place within organizations and the most effective leadership styles for directing individuals, projects, and groups to success. Demonstrate the differences between managing and leading, focusing on motivating and inspiring individuals in preparation for future challenges and opportunities. Explore the various roles that leaders take on in domestic and global markets and the ways leaders influence events that can drive success through individual and collaborative efforts. Create your own personal brand as you begin a journey to becoming a transformational leader.

Required Education and Experience

  • Terminal degree in business or management-related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

  • Professional experience in Business, Management, Leadership or related fields

  • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred

  • This position is specifically to teach a hybrid course

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning

  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem-and-project-based learning demonstrations

  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments

  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program

  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements
