Position Information

The Coordinator for Transfer Success develops and manages major Academic Resource Center programs targeted, but not limited to, incoming and matriculated transfer students. The incumbent will be responsible as a liaison between the colleges and admissions in regards to the implementation of strategic enrollment planning for transfer initiatives at UCR as well as targeted programming to assist with the success of transfer students. The position serves as a point of contact for transfer students, community college representatives and UCR staff/faculty who advise transfer students, and provides assistance and serves as a resource for students, staff, and faculty. The position works collaboratively with other offices on campus to provide excellent transfer support and success seamlessly.

The salary range for the Transfer Success Program Coordinator is $56,800 - $99,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $78,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Minimum Requirements

Interpersonal skills.
Knowledge in designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models.
Skills in judgment and decision-making.
Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting.
Knowledge of current research and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific, student-population specific).
Knowledge of academic curricula.
Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation skills.
Knowledge of how learning skills issues apply to a research institution.
Problem solving and organizational skills.
Experienced knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural/linguistic issues in applying academic support to students.


Preferred Qualifications

May require knowledge of NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.

Experience working at a higher education research institution. Demonstrated experience working with transfer students and developing programs to improve their academic success.

Knowledge of UC Academic Policies and Procedures as they pertain to: FERPA, student academic services and academic affairs administration, UC online Student Information System (SIS+)/Banner, and student academic progress towards a degree.
