Job Summary:

The Transfer Credit Articulation Analyst is a five-month term position ending on August 31st, 2024. Transfer Credit Articulation Analyst has two primary responsibilities; 1) manage the process of admissible students’ transfer credits into Banner by Registrar staff, provide quality control checks for entry of transfer credit, provide training to the staff as necessary, and 2) the evaluation of transfer credits and how those courses may or may not satisfy USF degree and departmental requirements.

Full Job Description:

The Transfer Credit Articulation Analyst works collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in the Registrar’s Office on the review and maintenance of articulated transfer courses in the Banner Student System.

The Transfer Credit Articulation Analyst identifies opportunities for improvements and efficiencies in the transfer credit process.  He or she also keeps up-to-date with transfer credit best practices and provides direction in this regard to the schools and college, and relevant colleagues in CASA and the Offices of the University Registrar and Admission.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Provide quality control for the entry of admissible students’ transfer credits into Banner. Provide training on transfer credit as needed to Registrar staff. Work closely with transfer admission colleagues to ensure timely, proper, and accurate application of admitted students’ transfer credits. Serve as an advocate for transfer students. Work closely with ITS on Banner transfer credit issues, enhancements, and upgrades, including testing of patches and fixes. Work collaboratively with schools and college colleagues, identifies opportunities for improvements in transfer credit process. Familiarity with FERPA and student records privacy issues. Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and colleagues; with email inquiries. Review customer issues; use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Document relevant procedures. Collect and analyze data in areas of responsibility; develop and present data to senior managers and executives. Assist in the preparations for the Grad Finale event and participates in the event. Assist in the preparation for Commencement and participates in the ceremonies. Serve as alternate to Registrar staff colleagues during periods of vacancies, vacation, and illness. Perform other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities

The Transfer Credit Articulation Analyst reports to the Assistant University Registrar, Transfer Credit Articulation.

Requirements:  education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • At least five years of progressive responsibility advising students of degree requirements, including transfer credit requirements and articulation.
  • Familiarity with USF schools and college degree and curricular requirements a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently, effectively, and collegially with faculty, deans, staff, and senior administrators. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Occasional evening and weekend work expected.
