Transfer Coordinator

Division of Enrollment Management

The Office of the Transfer Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Transfer Coordinator position. This position will be located in the Nashville, Tennessee area. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

This position is responsible for the management of their assigned territory which includes the development and implementation of strategic recruitment planning. This position will collaborate with Community College and University of Tennessee partners to establish consistent interaction by way of visits, fairs, and other developed events designed to attract competitive in-state and out-of-state transfer students. This position establishes recruitment goals based on Enrollment Management and Undergraduate Admissions overall enrollment goals with a focus on increasing market share. Partners with Enrollment Management Communications, International Recruitment and Diversity Recruitment to ensure a high level of competency and inclusiveness working with a diverse set of prospective students and parents. Represents UTK and Undergraduate Admissions at recruitment events. Coordinates and manages schedule of travel, visits, emails, phone calls and general office duties. Reviews prospective student applications for admission to include transfer gpa calculations, completion of transferable and non-transferable credit, and any written material related to the admissions application. Makes admissions decision on transfer applications. On an as needed basis, evaluates undergraduate college transcripts of admitted and confirmed students applying evaluated coursework on academic history reports. This position will have a primary territory in Tennessee. This position is located in Nashville, TN.

 



Qualifications

 

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree-

  • Professional experience in admissions, counseling, or advising at a Nationally Recognized college or university.
  • Experience giving oral presentations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data driven decision making and relationship building.
  • Territory management, report building and maintenance, and the use of data driven decision making for planning and strategy development.
  • Experience in event planning.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail, writing, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan visits, events and presentations independently and strategically for prospective students.
  • Ability to lift, transport and distribute objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Oral presentation/public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of university admissions process.
  • Ability to problem solve and research solutions.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software and system programs.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of university travel policies.
  • Ability to work with new technologies to enhance recruitment.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics.
