Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Training Support Specialist for  RBHS Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic & Student Affairs at the Office of the Chancellor. 
Reporting to the Director, Violence Prevention & Victim Assistance, the Training Support Specialist is responsible for training, education and outreach on Federal and state laws and regulations and University policies related to violence prevention, sexual harassment, sexual violence, relationship violence and stalking. The Coordinator will respond to disclosures of interpersonal violence and sexual harassment with compassion, empathy and understanding from a trauma-informed perspective. Leads programming efforts to raise awareness of the consequences of interpersonal violence and sexual harassment and promote resources on campus. 
 
This position would be focused on educational and preventive programs across the RBHS schools for faculty, staff, and students; will take on the task of organizing, coordinating and executing the prevention education, implementing the bystander intervention training with students, staff and faculty members and conduct outreach at all 3 RBHS locations. 
 
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Lead programming efforts by the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance to raise awareness of the consequences of interpersonal violence and sexual harassment and promote resources on campus. 
  • Is responsible for website and will review, update and maintain websites and outreach materials for RBHS outreach campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance, Center for Social Justice Education & LGBT Communities, and other constituents to create and implement combined education programs for students, staff and faculty. 
  • Responsible for training, education and outreach on Federal and state laws and regulations and University policies related to sexual harassment, sexual violence, relationship violence and stalking. 
  • Create new and edit existing education and outreach materials (such as presentations, brochures, posters, web content, social media content, etc.) to ensure that they complement training efforts and are fresh, engaging and up to date with applicable law and policy.
  • Conduct and facilitate group and departmental trainings and awareness programming for students, staff and faculty that aim to reduce incidents of interpersonal violence, increase bystander intervention and survivor-supportive responses from the RBHS community, and promote on-campus resources like the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance.
  • Works with the Director to develop and deliver training to special student populations, including international students and students on the autism spectrum.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to ensure that RBHS is conducting training for all populations who need training.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline plus two (2) years of related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and experience providing training and/or presentations in a professional setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for diversity and individual needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed response practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to maintain privacy and neutrality.
  • Ability to travel between RBHS campus in Newark and New Brunswick/Piscataway and Blackwood.
  • Training as a county-based Confidential Sexual Assault and/or Domestic Violence Victim Advocate in New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience working with students in a higher education environment.
  • Proficiency with Dreamweaver or WordPress and experience with tracking and maintaining data and developing reports, including a strong working knowledge of tools for managing and presenting data.
