Job Summary

The Training Coordinator coordinates and implements training and education activities for the Beyond the Pill Program at the UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health.   This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers trainings on topics including contraception, person-centered care, reproductive justice, and inclusive and trauma-informed care.  

Under the supervision of the Training and Technical Assistance Manager (UCSF Health Educator 3), the Training Coordinator plans and implements in-person and virtual trainings, including assessing needs and assisting with training design and content; facilitates registration, logistics, and technical support; conducts outreach and serves as a liaison with training partners and consultant trainers; provides follow-up communications and referrals; packs, ships, and restocks supplies and materials; helps to ensure that quality standards are maintained; and makes recommendations for quality improvement. This position conducts needs assessments and assists in tailoring trainings to the unique needs of each group; collects and analyzes evaluation data; maintains program records; and contributes to funding proposals and reports. The Training Coordinator assists with developing and updating the training curriculum, educational materials, and program content for diverse audiences, as well as contributes to research, administration, and other program activities as needed.

This is a hybrid-remote position based at the San Francisco Mission Bay campus that requires a regular on-campus presence, frequent travel for trainings and meetings throughout the U.S., and the ability to host and facilitate interactive virtual trainings and events. Candidates should have at least one (1) year of experience working in the reproductive health and/or social justice fields and at least one (1) year of program coordination or administrative experience. Preferred qualifications include experience working with health care providers and/or experience implementing in-person or virtual trainings; expertise in family planning education or service provision; a demonstrated passion for reproductive justice and equity; and experience working with diverse communities. The position requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and exceptional attention to detail. The candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and video conferencing platforms.

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences (ObGyn & RS) is a major academic department in the School of Medicine committed to providing quality health care services, educating health care providers and investigators, and conducting research to advance knowledge in our field. The Department is nationally recognized for research and training in women’s health care specialties. This position is based at the Department’s San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) Division, a large teaching, research, and clinical site. The SFGH Division of Ob-Gyn & RS is home to ~40 faculty, 8 non-faculty academics, and 110 staff; fellows, residents, and other trainees; and the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • U.S. Driver License
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the sexual and reproductive health and/or social justice fields in training, service provision, research, or administration
  • At least one (1) year of experience in program coordination or administration
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and video conferencing platforms
  • Working knowledge of the health promotion and education field
  • Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services
  • Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to acquire the requisite skills to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, education, or communications
  • Prior experience working with health care providers
  • Prior experience implementing in-person and/or virtual events or trainings
  • Expertise in family planning education or service provision
  • Demonstrated passion for reproductive justice and equity, and experience working with diverse communities
