Trails Maintenance Technician/Small Equipment Operator

Successful applicants will be proficient with the safe use and sharpening of chain saws, handheld power tools and have experience using and maintaining cross country trail grooming equipment, snow compaction units, rollers. Ability to determine optimal time for grooming ski trails for best possible results.

To be successful in this role, applicants should have at least three years experience grooming cross country ski trails and setting classic tracks.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Alaska Drivers License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

CT1: May possess journeyman level certification. Requires apprentice level or other equivalent certification appropriate to the specific trade; with a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CT2: Journeyman level or equivalent certification in a specialized field including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing or electrical; or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a range recruitment for a CT1 or CT2 position based on the qualifications and experience of the selected finalist.

Salary Information: CT1/Step 1 $24.36/hr.  (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule ).
