Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, plan and implement repairs, preventative maintenance, and renovations of buildings, vehicles, boats/motors, and equipment at the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory and Kimball Center, Georgetown, SC. Conduct maintenance on structures, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Other duties as required such as painting and grounds keeping.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and 2 years directly related trade experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Mastery in two or more trades or craft areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Advanced knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and construction trades. Thorough understanding of the techniques, methods, and procedures of the trades and craft areas.

Maintains fleet of approximately 12 vehicles and various landscaping tools. Repairing motors, transmissions and fuel, electrical, suspension, brakes, exhaust systems, hydraulic, cooling, and other components.
