Re-advertised  Trades Specialist IV, Minimum Salary: $37,735 per year, USC Aiken Operations
Under general supervision of Maintenance Supervisor, performs trades related duties of moderate difficulty & complexity, specializing in specific trade areas in various kinds of repair, maintenance or construction activities; works on a general maintenance crew involving multiple professional trades skills. Performs plumbing repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on various plumbing and piping systems including toilets, fixtures, flush valves, indoor and outdoor plumbing components. Independently performs corrective & preventive maintenance on small gasoline engines & electrical motors and golf carts. Responsible for maintaining 5 university vehicles and golf cart fleet. Obtains quotes from contractors to ensure and over sees preventative maintenance on boilers, back flows and other water systems. Repair and/or install drinking water fountains. Assist with key and lock assignments. Other duties as assigned. Requires a high school diploma and 4 years directly related trade experience. Employee will receive general instructions (primarily on work orders) on tasks to be performed, as well as specific guidance in areas that may be unfamiliar. Must be able to work independently as required. Normal work hours are 40 hours per week; subject to afterhours due to breakdowns with overtime required. Position also requires heavy lifting and employee must be able to work in adverse weather conditions during emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and 4 years directly related trade experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Considerable knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in general building maintenance and constructions trades applicable to the job. Considerable knowledge of the techniques, methods and practices of the designated trades areas. Ability to comprehend blueprints, plans and specifications.

Independently performs a variety of preventive maintenance tasks on heating, ventilating & air conditioning systems, such as changing filters, greasing motors, & cleaning coils and fans. Performs corrective maintenance on HVAC systems as required.
