The Research Associate conducts research in a project related to Isothiocyanates as cancer chemopreventive agents.  S/he works with tissues from animal bioassays and cultured cells for DNA isolation, performs LC-MS assay for detecting DNA damages, and works with antibodies to detect DNA adduct in tissues and cells.  The incumbent collaborates with several Lombardi cancer center cores, such as animal facility, Proteomics, and histology. We urgently need someone to replace him to continue the ongoing NCI sponsored project on DNA damages as biomarkers in cancer development and its prevention. Reporting directly to the Professor, Dr. Chung, the Research Associate has additional duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Works with tissues from animal bioassays and cultured cells for DNA isolation.
  • Performs LC-MS assay for detecting DNA damages.
  • Works with antiobodies to detect DNA adduct in tissues and cells.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Experienced MS as equivalent or recently received Ph.D. candidate
  • Strong chemistry background with some training in molecular and cellular biology
  • Expertise in DNA isolation and processing and familiar with LC-MS spectrometer
  • Skills in cell culture and molecular biology techniques will be a plus
