Title III Student Success Technician

The Title III SAGE Success grant is a five-year, $2.24M project that is designed to improve student success at UAA in several ways including improved tutoring services, a coaching and mentoring program, and support for students in classes that have consistently had high rates of D,F, and W grades. This position will support the project, working primarily with the project director on administrative tasks.

To thrive in this role, a candidate should be not only be familiar with common administrative activities and also willing to learn how to work with grant requirements. A detail orientation and strong organizational skills are needed, as well as integrate with a small, dedicated team.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of methods of organization, research, and analysis. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and institutional laws, rules and regulations relating to administration of program. Working knowledge of computer information systems and applicable software and databases, particularly Banner. Ability to comprehend written material and interpret and apply policies, rules, and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups and to work successfully as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to organize and present facts and opinions. Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions. Ability to interpret and apply complex policies, rules, and regulations. 

Preferred Experience &/or Education:

Experience working with budgets and fiscal operations; grant experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and two years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located at the University campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
