Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.
Position Summary
The Ticket Office Assistant will support the athletic ticket office in their efforts to serve all patrons throughout the ticket purchase and delivery process. Their primary responsibilities will include answering inbound phone calls, managing the ticket office email inbox, and leading ticket operations for men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse, with assistance and guidance from full-time staff. The position will work closely with marketing, event management, sport administrators and The Rams Club to provide the best experience possible. Additional responsibilities will include game day responsibilities for all football and men’s basketball games, deposits of funds, ticket reconciliations, data entry, event operations, as well as any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Operations.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
All candidates must be organized, have a strong attention to detail, and be customer service oriented. They are expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
40 hours/week. Nights and weekends will be required
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
