Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of live audio experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to read and comprehend production riders.

  • Ability to mix sound in a live environment for nationally recognized artists.

Preferred Experience:

  • More than four years of related experience of live audio experience.

  • Two years of live tour support.

  • Three years or related experience in the event industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Event setup: Participates and supervises in the setup of events including sound, lighting, projection, and computer systems, as well as stages, chairs, tables, etc. for events held in Rudder Theatre Complex and other campus locations.

  • Event execution: Operates technical equipment during performances, to include lighting, projection & audio systems.

  • Assist managers with advancing of productions, assist in renting of equipment, etc.: Reads and understands production riders then use that information to determine if available in-house equipment will be adequate or if additional equipment is needed; if additional equipment is needed, be able to work with outside vendors to secure rentals. Needs to be able to have educated conversations with tour personnel in discussions related to audio support and provide knowledgeable answers.

  • Audio Engineering: Relies on previous audio engineering experience to provide support to our clients in regard to audio production for their events. This could include working with new and local bands all the way up to nationally touring and recognized artists.

  • Supervision & instruction of student staff: Introduces students to equipment used in the execution of events, encouraging them to learn & providing instruction to promote learning.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
