The TexVet Program Coordinator will, under general supervision, help coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of TexVet.

What you need to know

Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification of education and experience.

Two years of related experience in program coordination or working with veterans.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three or more years of experience interacting with veteran-serving entities.

Responsibilities:

Website Content Management: Creates, edits, publishes, and unpublishes new content to TexVet.org’s database. Audits existing content on TexVet.org to ensure it is up to date. Trains new TexVet.org web content authors on website policies and the use of the site’s content management system (CMS).

Program Coordination: Reviews websites and other public-facing methods of communication maintained by veteran-serving entities to help determine if they will be added to TexVet’s database.

Attends regional, governmental, and coalition meetings held by organizations that serve service members, veterans, and their respective families (SMVF). Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings. Plans and implements program events and meetings and assists in their evaluation. Establishes and maintains working relationships with local, state, national, and private veteran-serving entities. May assist in identifying program funding opportunities. May assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events. Compiles program statistics. Maintains program records and databases.
