Testing Coordinator

Located in the beautiful Egan Library , the UAS Testing Center is seeking a new Testing Coordinator who will help students achieve their educational goals and provide members of the Juneau community the ability to meet their professional requirements. This 12-month, benefits-eligible position is part-time (20 hours per week), providing a unique opportunity to pursue a fulfilling career while maintaining an excellent work/life balance. This position helps oversee Learning Center testing operations, including hiring, training, and supervising student proctors, and the coordination and administration of the following: placement tests, tests for distance and in person UAS courses, standardized tests, professional exams such as the BAR Exam, and accommodated testing for students approved by Disability Services that require additional time, private testing space, or other accommodations that can not be provided during an in class exam. This position is responsible for training Learning Center staff in shared testing duties, including communicating changes and updating the Staff Handbook and the Standardized Testing Handbook. This position is also responsible for managing contracts with testing vendors and related accounts receivable.

As the Testing Coordinator, you will work in collaboration with the Learning Center team and the Library Dean and with students and testing staff at other UA campuses. As the Learning Center is also the primary location for math tutoring, please highlight in your application (not required) if you have experience tutoring any level of math, statistics, or accounting.

• proficiency with spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel
• extremely organized and detail oriented
• ability to implement procedures across a wide variety of testing situations
• ability to write and speak effectively in English; excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
• ability to work some evenings and weekends
• willingness to complete annual proctor training and recertifications
• basic computer skills and ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues
• experience as a chief proctor, proctor coordinator, or proctoring room supervisor
• knowledge of online proctoring best-practices
• experience with handling confidential materials
• experience managing contracts and accounts receivable
• familiarity with working with students in an academic setting
• supervisory experience
• ability to communicate and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, testing vendor contacts, and members of the public
• experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds
• ability to tutor in math, statistics, or accounting

• demonstrated experience in organizing projects of large and small scales with multiple deadlines and multiple regulations
• demonstrated experience being able to multi-task

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and two years progressively responsible experience in a related specialty or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This 12-month, benefits-eligible position is part-time (20 hours per week). UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
