DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
This internship is with the Test & Tools team group in Information Technology Services at the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). The group offers a full range of support services for Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint tools to meet the needs of UCOP departments and systemwide organizations. The team provides UCOP departments technical support of these tools, and the teams evaluate customers' needs, proposing business solutions.
Hours will vary depending on school schedules and availability.
This role is 100% remote within CA. Must reside within the state of California. No exceptions.
Responsibilities

  • Learn Jira and Confluence to define access requests.
  • Performs test tool administrative tasks (e.g., user account setup, basic configuration) and provides end-user support.
  • Support current Jira and Confluence administrator on various tasks that support the tools.
  • Documentation of processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled University of California student.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write for a general, non-technical audience.
  • Basic knowledge of software functions and analysis.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as priorities evolve.
  • Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, works independently and as part of a team and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to bring forth creative and innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Understands compliance and security requirements for applicable industry or agency standards such as accessibility and PII usage.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence applications and query language.
  • Basic understanding of the design, development, and analysis of software with desire to learn more.

Education
  • High school graduate and/or equivalent experience/training.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $20.00 - 25.00 hourly commensurate with skills/experience.

    California residency requirement: Currently enrolled UC students who are California residents will be considered.
    This position is not eligible for visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
