Job Description:

Summary
Iowa State University’s Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is accepting applicants for a Test Center Operations Coordinator (Program Specialist II) to collaborate closely with Test Center team members regarding the daily operations of one or more test center locations across campus. The Test Center hosts nearly 100,000 in-person, computer-based exams per year with a vision to expand and enhance services. The Test Center’s operating hours include non-standard hours and may require staff availability after standard work hours. Remote work will be limited in this role and the successful candidate may work directly in a center location or an office separate from a center location. 
 

The Test Center Operations Coordinator (Program Specialist II) will be responsible for:

Student Employee Supervision

  • Co-supervise and provide input on performance management for 100+ student employee proctors in multiple center locations.  Student employee supervision is a collaborative effort with other Test Center team members.

Test Center Operations

  • Monitor student testing to ensure academic honesty and integrity.
  • Responsible for effectively coordinating operations of one or more test center locations.
  • Effectively navigate and manage multiple applications and web-based software simultaneously.
  • Collaborate closely with Test Center team members to provide exceptional customer service to our instructor and student users, including responding to phone calls, emails, and help tickets promptly and thoroughly.

Operations Focus Area: Instructor Exam Support & Auditing

  • Conduct daily exam audits via LMS (Learning Management System) to ensure a smooth testing experience for students.
  • Communicate timely and professionally with instructors on audit results.
  • Primary contact for exam request submissions by instructors.

Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
