Job Summary
The College of Sciences and Mathematics’ Office of Academic Affairs is seeks a Rural Medicine Program Coordinator to coordinate and execute the day-to-day operations of the Rural Medicine Program. The Rural Medicine Program is a jointly sponsored program between the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UASOM) and Auburn University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM). The COSAM ADAA office has administrative oversight of the undergraduate degree programs within the college. The ideal candidate for this position will have administrative support experience, be familiar with higher education practices, and possess a willingness to learn new skills while adapting to change.
About TES:
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
  • Assist with development and maintenance of program personnel.
  • Advise and provide support to students on processes and procedures of the program.
  • Coordinate projects and events
  • Assist with the compilation of reports for the Academic and Medical Directors.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Programs

Salary Range $18.00/hour
Work Hours Work schedule is flexible. Normal University hours are Monday - Friday 7:45am to 4:45pm. No nights or weekends are required.
