The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Justice seeks a motivated individual for the position of Term Clinical Assistant Professor. Teaching experience in the areas of Policing, Courts, Criminology, Program Planning, Corrections and Restorative Justice is preferred.

The successful applicant will be qualified to teach a variety of courses in the area of Justice at both the undergraduate and graduate level both face-to-face or online and will be mentoring students.

The Justice Department is a small, dynamic program which offers both Bachelors and Graduate Degrees in Justice. The Department has long-standing success in delivering both distance-delivered and traditional classroom instruction.

To thrive in this role, the applicant must be student-centered, have experience in the distance-delivery of coursework and distance teaching platforms, along with demonstrated work experience in either Corrections, Juvenile Delinquency, Forensics or Crime Scene Investigation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for this position include holding a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field at the time of appointment; 5 years’ work experience in one or more of the following areas: Forensics, Crime Scene Investigation, Juvenile Delinquency, or Corrections; demonstrated experience teaching, training, or field experience in Justice related topics; experience with web-based educational platforms; experience working with social service and community agencies; and demonstrated experience presenting on justice-related topics in group settings.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska, and permission for flexible on-site/hybrid/remote work (within the United States) arrangements have been approved by the UAF Provost. This is a full-time, term, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
