Term Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy Program/Academic Program Director

• Knowledge regarding: occupational therapy, higher education, community partnerships, and the service/catchment area in Anchorage and Alaska
• Flexibility in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including OTD faculty, administrators, community partners, students, and clinicians
• Ability and skills in education and distance education, fieldwork, occupational therapy education, program development, assessment and evaluation, implementation and evaluation of community partnerships, experiential contracts and student supervision
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the documented ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholders in order to effectively communicate with administrators, faculty, clinical faculty, students, and community partners
• Proven skilled relationship builder
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments, as well as a willingness to delegate appropriate projects to UAA therapies staff and to oversee these projects

• 5 years as a practicing occupational therapist, preferably with a variety of populations and disabilities
• Documented supervisory experience, workshop teaching, committee participation or publication
• Experience working in academia highly preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Doctorate
• Required to be licensed as an occupational therapist in the State of Alaska
• Required to be initially certified as a registered occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
•Clinical Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD) or other academic terminal degree.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus, and on-site. This is a full-time, term-funded, 9-month faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
