Job Summary
The Department of Accounting in the College of Business, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions. One position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and the other may be at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. Applicants must have an interest and ability to teach either auditing and/or upper-level financial accounting as well as the ability to conduct top quality research consistent with a Carnegie R-1 institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position responsibilities will include:
a) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; participating in curriculum and course development and have a commitment to student success;
b) Research culminating with publications in top tier journals;
c) Customary service commitments to the department, college, university, community and/or profession; and
d) Maintaining appropriate AACSB faculty qualification criteria as defined by the Department.
Required Qualifications
1. Tenure-Track position:
     a. Possess a research-focused PhD in Accounting at the time of joining the faculty or be ABD and close to finishing the PhD.
     b. Demonstrate research potential as evidenced by publications and/or working papers.
2. Tenured Position:
     a. Possess a research-focused PhD in Accounting at the time of joining the faculty.
     b. Demonstrate research, teaching, and service records commensurate with the tenure standards at UTA, a Carnegie R-1 institution.
3. All candidates should be teaching/prepared to teach auditing and/or upper-level financial accounting
Preferred Qualifications
(a) Professional certification in area of teaching.
(b) Work experience in the area of teaching.

Department Information
The Department of Accounting is a part of the College of Business. The department has several graduate and undergraduate programs and is focused on preparing students for the CPA exam and other professional careers in accounting. The department serves about 700 students and graduates nearly 200 students a year
