Description:

The Mathematics Department at the University of Houston invites applications from candidates working at the interface of applied mathematics and information science for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We are particularly interested in candidates bringing an expertise in information science to areas of applied mathematics that include but are not limited to approximation theory, compressive sensing, harmonic analysis, manifold learning, Markov random fields, optimization, quantum computing and sparse representations. In addition, we expect that the selected candidate would continue to broaden the research performed in the existing research teams at the Mathematics Department and develop strategic connections with other departments at UH in mission critical areas related to advanced computing, information science, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Qualifications: PhD in Mathematics or a related field. Notes to Applicant: Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidate.
