Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Health Equity and Public Policy Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health Equity and Public Policy. We seek an early career social scientist whose research and teaching interests address policy-relevant issues relating to health equity. We welcome applicants with scholarly training and expertise in public policy and health policy. The successful candidate will be part of a major hiring initiative at Cornell’s new Brooks School of Public Policy. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in a field related to Public Policy and/or Health Policy. We will begin reviewing applications on November 15th, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Brooks School of Public Policy is tackling complex U.S. and global societal challenges, including health inequity. We develop practical solutions that policymakers and other decisionmakers can use to improve the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of our population. Cornell University established the Brooks School in 2021 and is positioning it to quickly become a leading school of public policy with expertise in areas that resonate with Cornell’s unique strengths as an academic institution. In service to these goals, we seek to hire several world-class public policy research scholars oriented toward policy engagement and impact across a variety of disciplines. There will be ample opportunity for researchers to work collaboratively through the university-wide Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq). This position may be supported by Cornell University’s FIRST program (Cornell FIRST ), via a grant from the NIH’s Common Fund’s Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) program, to recruit early-career faculty who have a demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence. “Inclusive excellence” refers to cultures that establish and sustain scientific environments that cultivate and benefit from a full range of talent. As part of the university's comprehensive vaccination program , all Cornell employees are required to have and provide proof of an FDA-or WHO-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster or have obtained a university-approved disability/medical or religious exemption, regardless of their role and work location. New hires are required to provide documentation showing full vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before their first day of work. If a new hire's vaccination is not complete or information is not received by their start date, the first day of work will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of employment may be withdrawn. New hires are also required to have and provide proof of their vaccine booster within 30 days of the start of their employment or within 30 days of eligibility for the vaccine booster.
