Position Summary

The Department of Physics at Indiana University/Bloomington (IUB) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. Candidates with research interests in experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics, preferably with connections to quantum information science, are invited to apply. The position is part of the Emerging Areas of Research campus initiative (http://ovpr.indiana.edu/ear1/ear1/) that is funding significant growth in these areas through the Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering at IUB.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants should possess a PhD and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated excellence in research. Postdoctoral research experience (or equivalent) is strongly preferred. Candidates are expected to develop an active, externally-funded research program, engage undergraduate and graduate students through effective teaching, and participate in service to the university and the profession. In exceptional cases, candidates at more senior levels may be considered.
