Essential functions (job duties):

The Department of Biological Sciences at Wayne State University (http://www.clas.wayne.edu/biology/) is searching to fill a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the areas of Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology with an expected starting date of August 16, 2024. The Department is particularly interested in future leaders who employ systems-based approaches to define molecular, genetic, and physiological processes underlying biological function and disease states. Job duties to include:

Conduct externally funded research to define molecular, genetic, and physiological processes underlying biological function and disease states in the areas of Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology.

Adopt and develop course offerings at the undergraduate and graduate student level.

Participate in graduate and undergraduate research training.

Perform service at the departmental, college, and university level. 


Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding record of research achievement with the promise to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program. Candidates are expected to adopt and develop course offerings at the undergraduate and graduate student level, participate in graduate and undergraduate research training, and perform service at the departmental, college, and university level.
