Position Details
The Wesleyan University Upward Bound (UB) and Upward Bound Math-Science (UBMS) programs are searching for teachers for its six week summer enrichment program. The UB and UBMS programs serve low-income and first-generation students from Middletown and Meriden. UB/UBMS is currently seeking teachers for the following classes: Math, English/Language Arts, Science and Foreign Language positions. The summer program runs from Thursday, June 20th through Friday, August 2nd.
The Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math-Science Summer Teachers will:
  • Create curriculum and instruct UB & UBMS students.
  • Track student achievement and progress, communicate progress with students, parents/guardians, and program staff.
  • Participate and supervise/chaperone program activities.
  • Assist program staff in planning for summer program.


This is an on-campus, non-benefit eligible position working up to 35 hours per week through August 31, 2024.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field of teaching subject or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Experience teaching low-income, first-generation, and underserved populations.
