The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Summer Scholars Program Coordinator on the Gainesville campus. Coordinate the Summer Scholars STEM Institute and is responsible for assisting teachers, student assistant(s), and students with daily operations. Fluent in English and Spanish. The program dates are May 1st, 2024 - June 30th, 2024.
- Manage day-to-day operations of S2C summer sessions, to include: space reservations, transportation, food, student conduct questions, staff meetings, coordination of guest speakers and/or field trips, and coordination of career-focused activities.
- Participate in program preparations, including program planning, orientations, and organization of forms/materials.
- Coordinate student supervision to and from buses, to classes and lunch, during designated program breaks, restroom breaks, and around campus.
- Collaborate with participating school systems on continued program development, student recruitment, end-of-course assessments, and grade reports.
- Create and maintain comprehensive records on program staff, students, community contacts, and transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have knowledge of curriculum assessment and development.
- Proficiency with word processing and database applications.
- Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Education, Applied Linguistics or TESOL.
- Fluent in English and Spanish required.
- Teaching at the middle, secondary, or tertiary level required.
- Experience working with youth in out-of-school academic programs and/or facilitating out-of-school programming is preferred.
- Experience working with grants and grants program management is preferred.
