Job Description Summary

This Temporary Research Assistant position is available to assist with studies on structural changes of glycoproteins from herpes simplex virus.

Job Description

This student worker position is available to assist with studies on structural changes of glycoproteins from herpes simplex virus. He/she will assist laboratory manager in the mapping of HSV-specific antibodies by using overlapping peptides. He/she will perform scientific literature search, generate data from ELISA and western blotting assays, complete data entry and analyze data individually and in collaboration with Principal Investigators and other researchers - with the intent of presenting research results in laboratory meetings.

High school diploma is required, with 0-1 years of related experience in research. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Basic knowledge of molecular visualization programs (Pymol, Chimera, Alphafold) is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills are highly desired.

Mapping of monoclonal antibodies against gE2 and gE2/gI2 soluble proteins by ELISA using overlapping peptides

Develop a model of the gE2/gI2 complex using Chimera and Alphafold computer programs. Validate model using pre-existing data.

Pay Range

$7.25 - $15.00 Hourly Rate
