Job Description:

Job Summary:

Performs temporary duties requiring special skills (i.e., mechanical, scientific, research, or information systems support). Principal contribution is providing routine or standardized laboratory or administrative duties and collecting routine data in support of research projects under direct supervision. Collects and enters data. The incumbent must be paid hourly and needs to complete a timecard or track hours in UC Time. The salary range for this position is $9.23 - $30.05 per hour. This assignment cannot exceed twelve months or 1,000 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with developing data collection tools managing data files; and providing general administrative support.

• Assisting lab members in preparing and conducting experiments.

• Following established procedures or protocols and providing assistance to supervisor with research projects.

• Performs other related work as needed.

Competencies:

• Basic knowledge in relevant scientific field required.

• Ability to learn new research techniques or methods.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Verbal and written communication skills.

Education, Experience, or Certifications:

Education:

• High school diploma required.

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted strongly preferred.

Experience:

• One year of relevant research experience preferred.
