Job Description

Temporary Office Pool

The Financial Accountant is responsible for key accounting, operational and reporting functions within the Controller’s Office. This position serves as a key liaison between the Controller’s Office and departments throughout the University to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide guidance / review in accounting matters.

Other responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis; assistance with University’s annual audit, and ad hoc projects as they arise.

This assignment would begin mid-February and run through end of June; 28 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting preferred
  • Detail-oriented with strong statistical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and understanding of financial statements.
  • Ability to consolidate complex data into concise management reports
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Financials or other financial accounting systems preferred
  •  Excellent analytical, technical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills
