Essential Job Duties
The Database andMaterialsManagementExtension Assistant will be an integral part of NC State
University’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) program, Steps to Health, in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences. In addition to working with faculty and staff at NC State, this position interfaces with statewide, county, and district Cooperative Extension staff and volunteers as well as other state and community-based agency/organization professionals and volunteers.
The position is responsible for managing the inventory and shipping ofmaterialsforSNAP-Ed
implementation across the state, including communicating via email and phone with Extension
professionals regarding program timing and shipping information. This position will enter information into a program databases to track programs, inventory, and program data. The position works under the supervision of the Steps to Health Program Coordinator and in collaboration with the Steps to Health Team.
Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate inventory ordering,management, and shipping of Steps to Healthmaterials. Manage pick, pack, and ship operations for the program.
  • Input programmatic and inventory information into tracking database.
  • Track program data and outcomes in funder required reporting database.
  • Communicate with county-based staff regarding program scheduling, observation
    scheduling, andmaterialstracking.
  • Assist in the development of electronic and print media such as informational
    brochures, recruitment flyers, etc.
  • With specific guidance, assist Steps to Health project staff with editing and updating of
    curriculummaterials.
  • Assist with local program implementation.
  • Travel within the state and within the continental U.S. with some overnight stays to implement programming and assist, educate, monitor and provide project support toSteps to Health instructors.
