Job Summary:
The Temporary Data Assistant is responsible for maintaining alumni data in the University’s alumni database and assisting with data entry, mailings, and other miscellaneous data projects for Chicago Booth’s Office of Advancement. This is a full-time temporary position expected to last 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain data on records in Griffin, the University’s alumni and donor database of record.
- Compare multiple strains and sources of data and enter the appropriate information into databases.
- Assist the Advancement Services teams with tasks such as mailings, proofreading, data audits, and organizational projects.
- Other duties as required.

- Ask clarifying questions and choose appropriate sources.
- Discretion in the handling of confidential information.
Additional Requirements
Education, Experience or Certifications:
Education:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum one year of data entry or research-related experience in an academic or corporate setting required.
- A minimum of two years of database maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with a higher education alumni database preferred.
Technical Knowledge or Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with University of Chicago alumni database system (Griffin, SunGard Advance product).
