Brief Summary of Work for this Position
Successful candidates will be generalists with strong multi-cultural competencies and experiences, possessing specific interest in providing affirmative services supporting the mission and needs of diverse students in a dynamic university counseling center.
Responsibilities will include: individual, group, and relationship counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, assessment, and other duties, as assigned.
In addition to the general duties listed above, interest and expertise in one or more of the following is desired: mood regulation, anxiety management, crisis management, mind body principles or developmental issues.
The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal, oral and written skills; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, a commitment to actively engage in practice with diverse populations (racial/ethnic,LGBT, ability, gender, SE etc.); and a commitment to the developmental perspective of counseling services.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Position requires a master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, social work or counseling psychology, counseling or clinical social work
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
7 years post master’s clinical experience or a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology, counseling or clinical social work.
Required Certifications or Licensure
  • 2 years of experience working within a college counseling Center
  • License to provide clinical counseling services in the State of North Carolina
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Work Hours Varies between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Work Days Varies between Monday - Friday

The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
