Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 16 hours per week) Temporary Biological Sciences Research Technician 1 position for the Department of Crop and Soil Science at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position is housed within OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences in the Department of Crop and Soil Science.
The purpose of the position is to assist with field fertility response trials with potatoes as part of the state-wide OSU Extension Soil Fertility Program within the Department of Crop and Soil Science.
The location of the trials is at the Hermiston Research and Extension Center, Hermiston, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities
95% – Field trials duties.
Assisting with potato trials, collecting plant tissue samples, weeding of experimental plots as needed, participating in potato harvest, and grading the harvested potatoes.
5% – Assisting with data collection, organizing, and cleaning work areas.
What We Require

Two years of college-level courses in (specific field of biological science); OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Agricultural sciences background, work experience, or classes.
Ability to work well with others, ability to manage time efficiently when working independently, and attention to detail.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Ability to work outdoors for several hours at a time in various weather conditions and direct sunlight. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs from ground level.
