Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of experience administering employee health and welfare benefits programs.
Ability to use time effectively and efficiently, critical thinking, organization, compassion, and detail oriented.
Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, able to present data and recommendations in an organized and logical manner to all levels of an organization.
Position DescriptionThe University of Louisville Human Resources department is seeking a full-time Temporary Benefits Specialist. This position is a 7-month assignment with a possible extension, includes medical-only benefits, and currently features a remote work schedule. The Temporary Benefits Specialist will counsel and educate faculty, staff, dependents, and retirees on benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short term disability, long term disability, legal services, leave time, FML, tuition remission, and any other programs that may be added. Respond to employee questions and resolve employee issues. Administer benefits programs daily including monitoring and updating data in PeopleSoft and on vendor reports such as discrepancy reports and perform special projects, as needed.
